History

On 10th January 1974, Hrithik Roshan was born in Mumbai into a Punjabi family. He’s the son of Rakesh Roshan, former actor and film director, and mother, Pinky. His paternal grandfather was the renowned Hindi film music director Roshanlal Nagrath. Hrithik Roshan is second in the family and has an older sister, Sunaina. He did his schooling at Bombay Scottish School. Since the age of six, he stammered, which caused him problems in school. He went to speech therapy and, over time, gained confidence. Roshan then went on to pursue his Bachelor in Commerce from Sydenham College.

Work Life

He first entered the world of cinema at the age of six in the film Aasha in 1980, through this maternal grandfather, Prakash. He continued to appear in more family films. Hrithik Roshan then decided to pursue his career in acting. He also assisted his father on several film projects such as Khudgarz, Karan Arjun, Koyla, etc., and learned acting under Kishore Namit Kapoor.


He made his first acting debut in his father’s 2000 film Kaho Na...Pyaar hai starring opposite Ameesha Patel. He took classes in diction, fencing, dancing, and singing to work for this role. The film was a huge box office hit, and he became famous overnight for his outstanding work. He also won several awards for his work in this flick. After his success, Roshan gave more hits like Fiza in 2000, Yaadein in 2001, and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in the same year, which was the highest-grossing film in the year in India.


Hrithik’s subsequent films were unsuccessful in charming the audience. But, the star rose to prominence with his work in Koi ... Mil Gaya in 2003. For this film, he shed a few kilos that play the role of a school student with a developmental disability. After Kaho Na...Pyar Hai, Hrithik won his next award for this hit. He then gave terrific performances in his subsequent films, Lakshya, Krrish, and Dhoom 2. One cannot forget his mesmerizing role in the movie Ashutosh Gowariker’s 2008 film Jodhaa Akhbar in which he played the role of Akhbar and also won the best actor award. With the success of this movie, he became one of the most versatile actors in Indian cinema. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Krrish 3, Agneepath, Super 30, and Vikram Vedha are some of his successful films.
